A comforting, aromatic caffeine-free cup of tea made with antioxidant-rich South African rooibos (also known as red bush tea).
- 3½ cups water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- 3 cloves
- 1 teaspoon loose rooibos tea leaves
- Combine the water, cinnamon stick, star anise pods and cloves in a medium saucepan, set over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and add the tea. Stir, and then remove from heat.
- Allow to steep for 2½ to 3 minutes. Strain and serve with any sweetener desired.
